Employee Spotlight: Bryce Burks, Field Supervisor

Bryce Burks

What do you do at Gilbert Industries?

I’m a field supervisor.

What is a typical day for you like here at work?

Show up in the morning, get the guys going, figure out what we need to be doing for that day.

How long have you been at Gilbert Industries?

Almost 8 years now I believe.

What brought you here?

It was a great job opportunity and I took it and haven’t looked back.

What part of the job do you find most fulfilling?

I guess whenever you get done with a job, the customer is happy, and you hope to come back to do some more for them.

What do you like most about working at Gilbert?

I’d say that it’s kind of like a family. Everybody works together and try to do the best they can.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

Fishing, hunting, and anything I can do outdoors with my son.

What is a specific project that you are proud of or that was particularly memorable? One that showcases your abilities as well as Gilbert Industries ability to make innovative solutions? Or a challenge that was overcome?

I’d say an ammunition plant located in Virginia. It was a fun job to be on. We were building 4 tanks at a time, there were a lot of guys out there, and everybody worked together to get it done.

What’s been your most memorable experience since joining Gilbert?

I guess just being part of the cryo tanks since not everybody gets to do those. Seeing how that works has been really cool. I’ve been on 3 of them so far.

In one word or phrase, how would you describe Gilbert?

Family

What are you most looking forward to over the next year?

Professionally: Continuing to successfully complete jobs.

Personally: Getting to work in new places and meet new people.
