Employee Spotlight: Clint Johnson, Shop Supervisor

What do you do at Gilbert Industries?

Shop Supervisor

What is a typical day for you like here at work?

Make sure I have all my parts, giving my guys their orders, shipping equipment out to the field.

How long have you been at Gilbert Industries?

This May it will be 21 years.

What brought you here?

I just always wanted to weld, that’s just it. And I wanted to go see the world.

What part of the job do you find most fulfilling?

Thursdays at 4:30 pm. (smiles)..

No, just the tanks that we ship out of here, the product that we build with our hands. If you sit back and think of it, everything you eat and drink, we’ve been a part of.

What do you like most about working at Gilbert?

It’s close to home, and the people.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

Spending time with family and friends, and pastoring a church.

What is your professional and educational background before Gilbert?

I started on at Gilbert basically right out of high school.

What is a specific project that you are proud of or that was particularly memorable?

I remember the race in Hereford, TX in ’07 when everyone was trying to see who was going to have the first ethanol plant in Texas.

What are you most looking forward to over the next year?

Professionally: Finishing out these tanks- we’ve got a big year.

Personally: Getting to spend more quality time with my kids and my wife.
