What is a typical day for you like here at work?
A typical day at work is to get on the phone with the customer, make sure we are meeting schedules, check that parts are where they need to be, ensure the fabrication is going as it should on the tanks, and provide updates for the team.
How long have you been at Gilbert Industries?
I started May 25th so less than a year.
What brought you here?
Shane Nicholson. I was just looking for a new career to get involved in.
What part of the job do you find most fulfilling?
The part I find most fulfilling is getting the satisfaction of working with the customer, problem solving any issues that arise, and showing them we are a company that wants to make them happy and give them the best product.
What do you like most about working at Gilbert?
My favorite thing about working at Gilbert is the people here, just getting to know everybody.
I like the busyness of the job too. Every day is different.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy going with my kids to ball games.
What is your professional and educational background before Gilbert?
I have a Bachelors of Science in Biblical Studies from Baptist Bible College, and a Minor in Counseling. I’ve been in fulltime ministry for 14 years and I’ve been a youth pastor and associate pastor and director of Freeway Ministries.
What is a specific project that you are proud of or that was particularly memorable?
Our northeast project sticks out to me. Just getting to know the guys in the field and being able to help them along their journey of completing the tanks.
What are you most looking forward to over the next year?
Professionally: Learning more about the company, getting to know the guys better, be a team player and serve however I can.
Personally: I would just like to grow more in the Lord, and learn computer skills more. Be there for my kids, be a better dad, be a better husband, just be more focused with people around me and being able to meet their needs.
