Employee Spotlight: Tucker Allred, Regional Sales Manager

Tucker Allred
What do you do at Gilbert Industries?
Regional Sales Manager
What is a typical day for you like here at work?
In the office, I prepare quotes and estimates, explore new leads, and find the best solutions to meet our customers' tank needs. When I'm on the road, I meet with sales reps and customers, conduct walk-throughs, and host lunch-and-learn sessions.
How long have you been at Gilbert Industries?
4 months.
What brought you here?
Jeremy Nicholson introduced me to this opportunity. We were talking at the gym, and he spoke very highly of Gilbert. I was looking for a close-knit, family-oriented work environment within a small company that operates on a large scale. Gilbert seemed like the perfect fit.
What part of the job do you find most fulfilling?
The most fulfilling part of my job is meeting customers' needs while also managing projects in a way that makes everyone’s work easier.
What do you like most about working at Gilbert?
What I enjoy most about working at Gilbert is the opportunity to travel, meet customers, and see firsthand the impact of what we’re selling and its purpose on a larger scale.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
When I'm not working, I enjoy golfing, spending time with friends, and being outdoors.
What is your professional and educational background before Gilbert?
I graduated high school from Ash Grove. I went to Missouri S & T where I received a mechanical engineering degree. I worked at a local stainless steel shop as an engineer for 2 years.
What is a specific project that you are proud of or that was particularly memorable? One that showcases your abilities as well as Gilbert Industries ability to make innovative solutions? Or a challenge that was overcome?
There’s a new facility in Texas where we recently sold seven field tanks. We went down to meet with the team, negotiated pricing and tank specifications, and were able to meet their expectations on cost. The project is now moving into the engineering phase, with fabrication set to begin in November. I’m excited to see it through!
What’s been your most memorable experience since joining Gilbert?
Going down to Houston.
In one word or phrase, how would you describe Gilbert?
Very family oriented.
What are you most looking forward to over the next year?
Professionally: Making more relationships with customers and meeting their needs.
Personally: Beating Shane Nicholson at golf again.
