Employee Spotlight: Levi Barr

As a Field Supervisor, what is a typical day like for you?
I ensure that the crew is tasked appropriately. I’m responsible for making sure the layout on the tank is correct, and the welding and fabrication goes accordingly. I maintain equipment, keep consumables, and make sure we have the things we need to do the work. I also do any required paperwork for the job site, get permits, write JSA’s, and assist with fabrication.
How long have you been at Gilbert Industries?
This will be the start of my 12th year.
What brought you here?
Truthfully, it was the money. I know a lot of people that work here also. Grew up with a few of them.
What part of the job do you find most fulfilling?
Loading the truck to move to the next job.
What is your educational and professional background before joining Gilbert Industries?
I was an equipment operator for 6 years before I came here.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Working around my house, stuff like that.
What do you like most about working at Gilbert?
Well, kind of like what I’ve got going on right now. Family emergency, 2 days notice and I’m back home where I need to be.
What are you most looking forward to over the next year?
Professionally: I’m looking forward to helping expand our workforce.
Personally: Spending more time at home.
