I’m a craftsman, welder, and fabricator.
What is a typical day for you like here at work?
Fabricating tanks, layouts, making sure everything goes smoothly. Currently, I’m in New York working on a field job, building several tanks. I’m thankful for this opportunity. This is an entirely new opportunity for me because I’ve always been in the shop.
How long have you been at Gilbert Industries?
Almost 2 months.
What brought you here?
Good opportunities and to grow my career.
What part of the job do you find most fulfilling?
When the tank is done and standing straight in the air.
What do you like most about working at Gilbert?
I really like Gilbert. I like the guys here, I like Jeremy. It’s a good place to work. The environment and the good people around me, and upper management.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy watching my kids play sports. And, of course, watching the KC Chiefs.
What is your professional and educational background before Gilbert?
I went to school in Everton, MO. I went to welding school at OTC. I’ve been in the stainless-steel industry off and on since I was 19 years old.
What are you most looking forward to over the next year?
Professionally: I’m looking forward to growing with the company to see where my career expands with them.
Personally: I’m looking forward to my wife coming to New York to go to Niagara Falls and see the Macy’s Day Parade.
